Does anyone else feel tired almost every day? Recently I have found it hard to get up before 12!!

I get tierd and am in bed by 9 pm. I am an early riser when working (around 5am) Some days are better than others and if I am kind to myself I don't feel too bad.

I find eating fruit and drinking water helps, but sometimes I just have to find a quiet corner. The weather and my sugar levels affect how sleepy I am too. If I have a cold or something working on me, I find it hard to stay awake all day, and even oversleep in the mornings.

If you are worried have a chat to youe medical team and see what they can come up with.

Tired most of the time?

Are you or could you be depressed? When I was first diagnosed with Diabetes my Cholesterol and Tri-Glycerides were off the chart and I felt like a dead man walking with what I was being told. To add to this I went into a deep depression. I've never had depression before and to a degree still suffer from it) I found it so difficult to get any enthusiasm to get up and do anything.

The cold/freezing weather also makes it difficult to get motivated to do something, anything. I've been unemployed since August (My dog needed an amputation of his front leg, caused by a Tumor - ?9000 it cost and I gave up my job to help him recover) and sometimes I do find it hard to get motivated to get up, dressed and get out to do something, anything.

🙂

Everyday, gets me at about 2/3 o clock in the afternoon. My worst time of day no matter what i try. But mine are always linked to high BGs. And i get really grumpy with it!!! 🙂

I was often shattered, turns out I had an underactive thyroid, quite common in diabetics - it may be worth gettting it checked.

Diabetes makes me tired ive had it 35 years, very unstable with under active thyroid. Not knowing what happens next is also worrying. people do not realise how tiring diabetes can be on your mind. Quite offten my mind seams dormant. But when gloucose levels are good it helps with a clear mind.

I know that diabetes can make you very tired and is supposedly one of the symptons!

I am always tired, and was was even before I was diagonsed with diabetes in 2000.

Turns out I was lacking B12 (which causes a form of anemia because the blood is not circulate oxygen around the body very well as it should) I was feeling very tired, woolly headed and I must say at times I though I was going mad! but was better once I started having B12 injections.

Next time you are having a blood test ask your doctor/practice nurse if they can check your B12 levels.

I still get very tired but put most of that down to having a long commute to work and getting up early each day.

Yes I'm still tired most of the time. I've had really bad cold over Christmas and New Year and have felt much worse than I usually feel with just a cold. Thank goodness I have very few colds!! Still feeling tired and weepy. First time I've been ill since being diagnosed and I don't like it at all!! My bloods are still high as well. Still, I can't complain I've lost a few pounds!!

I feel very tired when my blood sugars are high. recently though I fall alseep as soon as I sit or lie down. i don't feel too tired when I'm active or at work, but as soon as I get home I want to sleep. i put it down to the medication I'm on at the moment.
