Why maple syrup has less carbs and sugar than honey? Also most chocolate sauces seem to, looking for ideas to stir into yoghurt, any suggestions much appreciated x

Maple syrup always seems runnier than honey, so I suspect it's got more water in it, so ml for ml it contains less sugar.

I agree with Robin re the maple syrup. Also I'm guessing chocolate sauce might have a bit of fat in it?

Have you tried soaking prunes and mixing those in? If you give them a bit of a blast in the microwave with a little hot water and then leave them to cool down they soak up lots of moisture and produce lots of thick juice. I know prunes are sugary but a little goes a long way so you could do it in less than 10g carbs easily and if it's full fat yoghurt it shouldn't spike your levels. I sometimes squeeze a bit of lemon juice in as well to add a bit of a tangyness.

Thanks guys 🙂 @Radders I'm not too sure of i like prunes I don't remember ever trying them as my mum doesn't like them may have to give them a go x

I doubt this is what you mean, but it's because maple trees and worker bees are different organisms, so the proucts they produce from sunlight, CO2 and some nutrients taken up by roots versus from pollen taken from flowers are different too. Maple syrup is runnier because it is transported round tree by xylem cells and phloem systems, while honey is placed in cells (honeycomb) by bees, to be used when other food sources are not available.
How about stiring a teaspoon of lemon curd into plain yogurt? Not very much carbohydrate, but plenty of taste.

So far I've looked into the options of honey, maple syrup, coulis, compote and neither of them are too bad actually, I've never had lemon curd before either but may be an option, I also believe a fresh fig isn't too bad either but I wouldn't know what to do with it! lol x

This has got me wanting a lemon curd sandwich - loved them as a kid! 🙂 What's the difference between lemon curd and lemon cheese?

Never been quite sure, but I can't remember ever seeing lemon cheese on sale in a shop, only at village fetes, WI stalls etc. A jar of shop bought lemon curd lasts about a year in my fridge, as I don't eat it very often, just when I feel like lemony yogurt.

No, pretty sure we used to get both shop bought when I was a kid/teen 🙂

I think you can online, gimme a text! xxxx
Theres tons of it on Amazon, but they should carry the usual warning as they have artificial sweeteners (polyols in the one I looked at😱)
