Anyon else nearly done this?

Just about to go to bed, so got my meds sorted, went to check my blood sugar and nearly stabbed my finger with the lantus pen instead of my pricker.
I know I didn't do this, but if I had what would I have needed to do. I have some vague memory that you should do something or am barking up the wrong tree

Not quite that, but I have put the needle in my leg for my night-time injection and realsied I was just about to give myself 26 units of Novorapid rather than Levemir. Thank goodness for colour coded pens.

On a number of occasions I've nearly injected Novorapid instead of Levemir. I've only actually done it once and then i realised just over half way through so I injected about 20 units. Had to stay up half the night snacking to keep my bg up!!!

I've never confused the pen for a finger pricker yet - I think I'd notice before I actually injected the insulin so I don't suppose it would matter.

I've put the needle in before without having dialled the dose on many occasions! it's so annoying plus it makes you bleed twice. grr...

I've never done that, but it;s wouldn't have done any harm apart form being sore, as you wouldn't have actually been injecting into your finger.

I haven't done that yet Jules, but hearing from alot of people with diabetes at some point most have injected fast acting instead of basal and had to feed their insulin half the night.

I have injected with out preping, and oncee when very drunk i had my big insulatard that i should take 26 of i have no idea how much i took, but it didint seem like 26 more like 12 which is scary haha ill never do it again hopefully.
