Despite a large correction on waking at 16 and the "correct" humalog for breakfast at 10am by 12pm my BG was 14.4 when I had four units of humalog and haven't eaten anything else? Yet at 1.30 it is still 14.2 I've been having problems with high BGs for the last 18 hours and my tummy feels horribly bloated. I've changed humalog pens and rotated the sites.

Sorry to hear this Aj are you coming down with something?

Sorry I can't be anymore help to you either x

Sounds horrible and very annoying. I hope you're back on track today

Thanks Di and PGCity my tummy still feels completely bloated but after a lot more insulin than usual I managed to get my BGs under 10

Hi Amanda. I usually only get a shift like that if I'm coming down with something or mega stressed...hope things settled down for you today! Do keep an eye out for my bad habit of insulin stacking though...hope you got lots of coke or jelly babies around just in case! 😉

Take care,

Twitchy x

Thanks Twitchy - I think you may have got it right about being mega stressed. I am very stressed because I haven't driven for 18 months so I'm having a building my confidence driving lesson today at 11.30. I'm excited but very, very, very nervous about it because I lost all of my confidence with driving with all of the eye problems. Stress would also explain the bloated tummy. Thank you! x

Bless you - I bet you'll be fine but I can sooo relate to that - the first times I drive after my vitrectomy I insisted hubby be in car beside me to check I was driving ok & the first time I drove to work post op (A roads & a bit of motorway) I was shaking like a leaf for abour an hour after I got there lol. It does get easier though- it'll come back quicker than you'd think. 🙂 Have fun! X

Rotten when those days happen. Could well be stress hormones, or just your liver throwing it's toys out of the pram.

Hope it settles soon and your levels return to normal - and that your driving lesson goes well 🙂

Thank you everydaysUpsandDowns. Driving lesson was fantastic
