Did the caulli rice thing tonight with chicken in coke, but not sure what to take for it.

Caulli rice

Cauliflower 1/2
1 small onion
i carrot
Smoked paprika
2 cloves garlic
2 eggs

chicken in coke

1 Chicken breast fillet
1 onion
500ml coke (diet)
2 tablespoons bbq relish
2 garlic cloves

so any ideas what to take????

Can't see any carbs in that at all so if I was giving it to my daughter I wouldn't give her any insulin! (except maybe a correction amount if her BG happened to be on the high side)

Well I suppose there might be some sugar in the relish (is it home made of from a jar?) but I think that would be pretty negligible. If it's from a jar you could weigh it and work out how many carbs in the portion - i'd be surprised if it came to enough to bother doing insulin

Some people find that they do get a rise with a non-carb meal, but often much later than they would with carbs as the body converts protein and fat to glucose at a much slower rate. Some people don't get a rise worth talking about - I'm afraid it's one of those very individual things.

If you were using real rice, would you dose exactly for the rice and nothing else, or would you include an extra bit for the rest of the meal? If you'd dose exactly for the rice alone then I would try with no insulin and see what happens (and let us know! 🙂)

Well if rose from 9 to 12.6 in 1 1/2 hours, so i'll see how it goes
Thanks for the replys

But you did a correction for the 9 pre-meal?

yep, did a correction, went to bed at 11pm (dinner was 17.30) and woke with blood at 14.7 😱 think I may have to do some overnight testing again, hate doing that 😡
I normally only wake with 14's if I have had a lot of fats later in the evening, cheese ect

You could do with one of those Freestyle Libre thingies 🙂

That's precisely what I want one for! - I loathe overnight testing, I really don't sleep well anyway what with one thing and another.

Just check them out, they look good but a bit to pricy for me at £58 per sensor every 14 days, love the idea though.
