I’ve recently had 10 days in total of antibiotics for a UTI. My numbers of a morning before the antibiotics were at worst 8....now they’re in double figures...10 this morning. Getting a bit panicky. I’m not eating any differently and am actually taking more exercise. Looking really for reassurance that it is the antibiotic that’s doing this?

What antibiotic are you taking? Some can put blood sugar up. Also, if you’re unwell that can put your blood sugar up too, so it could be one or the other of those, or maybe a combination of both.

Yes, since having the first AZ jab I've had trouble with my legs and feet swelling, and once my legs went down my toes have been a worry, so two lots of antibiotics and yes, I have seen higher numbers.
It could be a combination of things though, fewer visits to the supermarket, different foods even when I do go shopping - no yoghurt for weeks, eating all the strawberries...
As low carb is my natural way of eating, I just accepted that at the moment my numbers are higher, but with any luck and a little perseverance they will go back to normal.
I was not told that my Hba1c had gone up two tests ago, pushing statins being far more important, but it went down again. I suspect that I might have had Covid, all the family got 'flu' the previous month.

It could be the UTI, the antibiotic or both.
Don't worry about it - because worry (stress) also makes BG rise.
