I’m taking Co-amoxiclav as my ankle has swollen again, reddened and become very painful. I’ve been on the tablets for 3 days, I was warned about possible diarrhoea (I’ve got the opposite ) but I seem to spend each day hunting out food all day. My blood sugars are between low 4 and 3:00 no matter what I eat. I reduced my insulin but still can’t reach 5. It’s a real pain at night as it wakes me so many times,I need to buy shares in Dextrose.
Apparently this can happen or the complete opposite (diarrhoea, high BS)
Strange or what?? Has anyone else had a strange response to any medication?

I got high blood sugar with Co-amoxiclav. It made me feel a bit ‘off’. Kind of nauseous and unsettled. Years ago I took another antibiotic whose name I’ve forgotten, and that made me extremely dopey and stupid - so much so that I accidentally flooded the kitchen!!

Apart from that, I find some anti-histamines give me low blood sugar. That surprised me as I wasn’t expecting it.
