Hi, I'm on antibiotics well this is my second day anyway can they alter my blood sugar readings?

Yes, some can. I took one that put my blood sugar up and needed more insulin. On the other hand, one sent me low. So just be aware there might be an effect. I hope you’re better soon.

Any change in meds can impact BG levels. The only way I know what is happening is by monitoring/testing which I am able to do. Some send my levels up others down.

It’s not the particular antibiotic that causes the blood sugar to rise or fall, it’s the way your body deals with infection. You would get the same response with a viral infection, which doesn't respond to antibiotics.

Hope the course of ABs does the trick, and you recover speedily @Steverpayne

Do you have a BG meter to meep an eye on your levels during your recovery?
