Evening all.....I once again need to pick your brains! 🙂
As a lot of you no my numbers have been all over the place since being on insulin, they have not come down a lot if anything more high readings than low, but I have had a couple of numbers come down a tad here and there under the 10 mark, my question is when they do come down would I feel any different or do they have to be low for sometime before you notice any difference within myself?
I only ask because I actually feel better when they are a tad high, for example last night I felt ok but when I checked before going to bed my bg levels were in the high 20's?
Today after brekie I checked my levels and I had a shock because it was 9.0
but I did not feel great at all, then checked 15 Min's ago and they shot up to 18.6 for no reason, but yet I feel ok, I'm finding it hard to get levels stable at the mo and I no it will take time, just want those numbers to come down rather being high mostly and erratic, I keep wondering when i have a burst of energy my levels are down then I check and there high....I do find when I inject I seem to have a burst of energy an hour later weather this is my head I do not no.....very frustrating! I do feel better in my self just confusing at times 🙄 sorry ranting away again!! at least this post is not me getting all worked up eh? :D

Hi, I found once you become accustomed to the high numbers when you do come down you can feel awful. With me I came down quickly over a few days I had several false hypos, the shakes, sweats, feeling confused and hard to concentrate.

From your posts you have been running very high for weeks if not months, your body treats this as the normal sugar levels for you. Then when you get a more normal BS reading (even a one off) your body treats it as a hypo. Once you can get your levels more stable at lower levels these feelings should disappear until you have a true hypo, until then I daresay you will get more of these feeling if you stay in the 20's you are accustomed to then have a drop to single figures.

I guess when I do get controlled levels it's a case of balancing the insulin 🙂
I must admit last night before bed was 16.2 which is far better than most other nights and woke up to 12.5 this morning so I think that is quite steady numbers all in all! 🙂

More stable 🙂 unfortunately still to high, but you will get there in the end, still not happy with the last docs approach, been reading a tiny bit of the nice guide line and would guess he's using the limits as a bench mark not what's suitable for the patient.
