Christmas is getting very close now😛, so I hope you don't mind me reminding you again about prescriptions. Christmas Eve is Monday week and everything will shut down for a few days.

Mine went in the middle of last week so I have to collect it tomorrow.

You were lucky Northener. I ordered my prescription a week ago. I went today and had to wait 20 minutes for them to make it up and even then they didn't have everything. I had to tell them how unhappy I was particularly as I have to rely on OH to drive me to the pharmacy which is quite a way away. They've kindly agreed to deliver the missing items on Friday but that means that I can't go out until it is delivered:(

How annoying! :( Things have improved a lot at my surgery, I must admit - used to be pretty poor. Now they check they have the items when you hand them the script - you still have to wait, but at least you know it's worth waiting for! Hope you manage to get everything through without too much hanging around 🙂

You have just reminded me of something: my surgery will no longer prescribe more than 28 days at a time. For years I have had 2 months' worth of drugs prescribed so know the routine, I have a feeling for when they are due and a system of reminders. 1 month is driving me crackers - already!!!

When I was in to see the nurse I asked her why the prescription had been changed, thinking she may have done something in error, but she said they were no longer allowed to prescribe more than 28 days.

Anyone else heard of this?

I'm sure I read or posted an article about this not so long ago - I'll see if I can dig it out 🙂

Hubby collected mine form the doctors yesterday, now all I have to do is get it filled.

What a pain only getting one months supplies at at time too. It would drive me nuts.

My prescription should be picked up by hubby today along with his own.

Luckily all we have to do is go to the chemist as they have an automatic system locally where the patient if they need a regular monthly prescription "nominates their preferred chemist". The chemist send a staff member to the heath centre's daily, when they are given all the relevant prescriptions; chemists fill them & you go on or after your normal pick up day & it is waiting.

Only need to be careful if your prescription changes; as once picked up 1 & found the changes hadn't been updated in time so had to go to health centre who gave me a prescription for the new bit only & next month all was OK.

Pretty good system & works well for your regular prescriptions. I have a cream which is on repeat rather than automatic as the tube is so large I don't need 1 that often, so I order this on-line leave it a few days and go to chemist to pick up.

Got all my "goodies" last night - thank you for the reminder, I'm sure i would have been one of the people who forgot!!!

thanks for the reminder got all my stuff today

I'm glad the reminder has been helpfull. I know a lot of people get busy this time of year and time slips by so quickly

I have given my chemist a list of what I will need, on prescription, after I see my dr on friday morning. My monthly prescription is always more than 20 items. 😱Pharmacist was really grateful as he could order the items in before and they will be ready for me when I take prescription for all items in on friday.

Ha makes me laugh it was me picking my other halfs up for him this morning lazy boot
