Just wanting to say Hi. Have been diagnosed before christmas. Having a rough time getting used to everything. I was on 500mg metaformin a day, but have been increased. I was wondering how do I get rid of the feeling of my skin being tight and stretched, the blurred vision and headache. lol

Welcome Stuzam from a fellow T2

Welcome Stuzam, you will get the hang of it soon, a lot of things are happening in your body right now as BG levels are reducing.

Hello and welcome stuzam🙂

Blurred vision is caused by the lenses in the eyes changing shape due to the higher than normal concentration of glucose in body fluids prior to diagnosis. It will improve once you get your glucose levels back into normal range with changes to diet and medication. If needed buy some cheap glasses to help with reading but if your sight was good before then all being well it will return to normal with good control.

Metformin can cause stomach problems which is why you increase the dose slowly up to a max of 2000mg (if needed) but having high glucose circulating in your blood can contribute to many problems in the body. If the odd feelings on your skin don't improve with time and good control then do ask your gp about it.

Thank you all. It is a bit daunting. I have changed the diet already. I know it is early days. Tonight I had my first low reading 3.3

Welcome and take good care. Low readings can be a bit scary I know. Are you ok with knowing what to do when low like that ?

You shouldn't be as low as that only taking Metformin, if you get an odd reading then recheck & if it's near the original reading then try & analyze what lead up to this reading.
