Hi just like to say a big hello to the community, newly diagnosed last week. Already started the LCHF diet a lot of people have adopted, and trying to get my head around the learning curve to manage my condition.

Hi from a fellow T2 whose 17 months in.

Hi from a T1 - welcome!

Any questions? - fire away ! LOL

Have you read advice to other newly diagnosed folk, and have you got yourself a meter?

Hi Guitartrax, welcome to the forum 🙂 How did your diagnosis come about? Many people find that Jennifer's Advice and Maggie Davey's letter are helpful in navigating the 'information you really want to know' 🙂 Also, the excellent Type 2 Diabetes: The First Year by Gretchen Becker has helped many of our members 🙂 Are you testing your levels to discover the impact of different things on your levels? Best (only?) way to discover your tolerances for elements of your diet, so you can retain maximum flexibility - no point in missing out on things you enjoy if they have no significant impact on your levels! Have a read of Test,Review, Adjust by Alan S to understand how to do this efficiently 🙂

Please let us know if you have any questions, and how you get on with things 🙂

Hi and welcome to the forum from an oddbal MODY!

Hi Guitartrax, welcome to the group.

I must say LCHF is quite aggressive so soon after DX, what are your numbers and meds? Are you testing? Be cautious if they prescribe hypoglycemic drugs like Gliclazide as you may tend to go hypo after starting LCHF (I quit Glyburide within days of starting)
