Hello world <<<<waves>>>> so then got a letter from the diabetes nurse this morning asking me to make an appointment for my annual review??? well im a tad bit confused as i only seen her 3rd of july apx 5 weeks ago??? and i had my hba1c done 7 days prior to this appointment, now she has asked for a 45 min session with me and also sent me a blood test for fasting...well im baffeld as i thought you only had fasting blood test when you first get diagnosed with diabetes?? is this right or not? either way im a tad confused as i only saw here 5 weeks ago.....<<< blank stare >>> or am i bening plane stupid?? 🙄

Phone her up and check. As a general rule of thumb most people get a blood test every three to 6 months and the annual full mony all the works review one a year.

Personally I don't think you can have too many checks so take everything I am offered, but it works for me and may not for others. Good luck

It sounds to me like this is your first full MOT after you've had a few weeks for things to see how things are settling down. The results at this review will be used as a comparison at your next annual review a year from now. I don't think that's unusual - I had my 'annual' review 6 weeks after diagnosis. The fasting test may be for some of the other things they check, such as cholesterol, liver, and kidney function etc. and they probably want to see how you are coping with everything 🙂
