Do you normally have the same nurse/doctor when you go for your blood tests and results for your annual reviews?
My practise is quite large, has several nurses and three or four of the nine doctors are listed as "Diabetic specialists". So far I've always seen the same nurse & doctor, but I've just made my appointments for this year's review, and when I went online to order my repeat prescription I checked to make sure the appointments had logged properly and found they're with a different doctor & nurse. I know logically it shouldn't make a difference, I just felt like I was building up a relationship with the others and now I've got to start all over again.

Well for the first few years I did . Due to retirements my surgery is now only left with one nurse for Diabetics.

In theory SL it shouldn't make a difference...if they are listed as diabetic specialists...however...it would make a difference to me...initially I dreaded seeing the GP I was 'allocated' when I registered with my surgery...he was an absolute nightmare...but...after writing to him...discussing concerns with him I always make sure I see him now...haven't seen anyone else since...you could ring your surgery...ask if it is possible to see your 'regular team'...of course if they are on leave or away during the time your review is due...that may not be possible...if not then you can ask to have your appointment re-arranged to accommodate this...always preferable for me to see my regular GP...absolutely understandable you feel that way...worth giving your surgery a call to ask if that is possible...good luck.

Hi. TBH I think it’s best to see the same nurse/dr esp if you have a good rapport with them and most importantly imo they have got to know you.
I’d do as @Bubbsie suggests and see if you can rearrange your appointment.

Yes, usually seen the same one. Apart from the first appointment. And when I started being troublesome and asked to see someone else.

We don’t have diabetic specialists at our surgery so it’s usually the same nurse.

We have 3 DSN's at our surgery, but so far i've seen the same one & she is really nice.

Yes, and I'm glad of that. For me it's about more than just the numbers and foot check, it's got to be someone I'm happy talking to.

I'm happy talking to anybody with regards to health. I can chat for England in that situation, I waffle on...whereas normally I'm really shy. 🙂 They've got all the info on the pc screen so no worries.

I have been with my surgery for about 4 years and I cannot remember ever seeing the same person twice.
