6.9! 🙂 I'd rather it was lower but it's an improvement on the last two & given the viral meningitis I'm just gobsmacked (& delighted!) that it's less than 8...The downside is it feels like it's taking a lot of extra effort since I was ill - I don't need to do much in the way of being active for me to be heading hypo...so thank God for the pump! At least it's below 7 & the doc is happy, & we've identified a couple of tweaks I'm going to try to iron some creases out too.

I asked why I hadn't seen any of the diabetes team during the week I was in hospital - turns out the ward staff should have told them but noone did - given the chaotic way things seemed I'm not surprised...I'm just glad I had enough wits about me to more or less manage on the pump, but the whole experience has left me anxious about if/when I end up in hospital again - especially if not well enough to manage my diabetes myself...under the conditions on that ward I simply would not have felt safe on a sliding scale for instance, as no way would they have tested every hour (which apparently they are supposed to do if you're on a ss)...& getting hold of anyone (ie if hypo & running out of or couldn't reach kit) would have been a challenge (call bells not being answered was par for the course). I know there's nothing I can do about that so there's not much point stressing, but the whole experience has left a mark - I'm very grateful that I could fend for myself despite being ill but it was scary. Sorry, rambled right off track... 😱

Hope everyone else is doing ok...

Great to get a decrease - well done! 🙂 It does sound scary about your hospital experience :( I'm a Patient Rep for my area and was told that they have a special team at the hospital who must be informed of your presence there and will come and do the necessary and make sure that you are happy with the way your diabetes is being managed. I know when I was in there at diagnosis for 8 days, with hindsight things weren't particularly well run regarding my diabetes - I often had to ask for my injection before eating, plus they didn't really take much notice of what my readings were as far as I could see. I was on novorapid and lantus but my BG went from 2 to 30 and as far as I could see they didn't make any adjustments to the novorapid according to what I ate.

Hope you don't have to go through that experience again!
