Hello all I'm back again. You will all be pleased to know I have finally be referred to the hospital diabetes team query late onset type 1 just awaiting my appointment. Rapid weight loss of 3 and half stone now. Blood sugars still in the 20s and 30s medication regime of 2000mg metformin daily, 100mg stigagiptin daily, 27 units humalog mix25 am and 29 units pm. Had another HB1AC test result of 117. Each time medication has worked for a short period then failed to make a difference and blood sugars rise again. Constant skin infections, hopitalised for surgery on abcess, the dreded thrush constantly like I have never known (sorry if TMI) and so ooooo bloody thirsty/tired/moody/weeing all the time. Please let this be the answer to my prayers!!!!

Hi Sammi
Oh dear you really seem to be going through the mill with all your problems. Sounds like some insulin resistance going on there. The medic need to do something with those worryingly high figures. I hope your appointment comes through soon and you begin to make some progress in getting this condition under control. My best wishes for you.
