Hi all,

Firstly apologies for not being on the board very often at the moment, but I have not been "myself" for quite a while now...

Some of you will know I have been having shoulder problems for 18 months, anyway been to the doctors (yet again) today and I am now on different painkillers at nighttime (Lodine) and I have still to take 30/500 co-codamol as I need during the day. I am also under the care of the hospital but my next appointment for the 21st March has been changed to 2 May 😡 so I am really unhappy about that.

I am still getting migraines, though not as often (at one point I was getting approx one per week).

But the main thing now is I have been put on anti-anxiety medication. I have not been "myself" for quite a while now, looking back probably about a year or more and things came to a head in December when I took a full blown anxiety attack during my exams... It is not just uni I think it is a combination of uni and other things but the uni has been great, I talked to my head of course last week and I have decided to take a step back from uni and complete the final year over the next two years. So I will now not be graduating until June 2013.

So I am going to take some "me" time and get my head together and hopefully I will be back to my old self in no time!

Sorry for the long post I seem to have rambled on a bit! 😱

I think you are very wise taking the pressure off somewhat by doing your final year over the next two years Carol, so I wish you the best of luck. Hoping you soon feel you are back to the 'real you' 🙂

Poor you! Well done for having the courage to take a step back and do your uni course at the pace you want. Uni can be stressful - but fun! Are your migraines stress related do you know? I can sympathise. One a week is no joke, been there myself. The only consolation I was offered was that as you get older their frequency diminishes. I have to say that has been true for me. I hope you are feeling better soon.

I know exactly where you're coming from; have been to GP's numerous times recently with various symptoms and GP has diagnosed anxiety. An accumalation of diagnosis; work; illness - taking time out and having 'me time' is really important - good luckk and most importantly 'keep talking'... xx 🙂

Hi Carole.

Sorry about your problems at the moment, but you are doing the right thing in taking a break, its a good idea to take a fresh look at things and set your priorities. I wish you the very best and look forward to your postings again

John

I hope that the meds help you - and its good that the University are being accomodation. It takes real strength to ask to do the final year over two years - as you are thinking of what is best for you and not bowing to others conventions.

Hope that you are able to resolve the other items that are adding to the anxiety.

Hi Cazcot sorry to hear that you are not feeling to good at the moment. Think you are doing the right thing taking a break from intense uni work. Sending love and hugs {{{{{{}}}}}

Hi Carol.

Sorry to hear about everything you're going through. But I'm glad your uni have been good with you and you've decided (and are able) to finish your third year in 2013 instead.

I hope everything works out for you, and please do keep posting...a problem shared is a problem halved 🙂

Sorry to hear you're having problems. Pleased to hear that Uni is being good about it all though (((Carol)))

Thanks everyone 🙂

Carole,
Sorry had abit of time away myself well 3 days lol but missed this first time around.

I hope the medication helps you out and that you become more yourself very soon.

Take care x
