Morning pug 😉 from what i have read the 2 main side effects are drowsiness and dry mouth...dizzyness came up as a common side effect but no passing out...hopefully someone one who takes this to will come along and give you more info.....by the way welcome :D

Hi pug, welcome to the forum 🙂 Passing out is serious, you need to get straight back to your GP, I would say. Have you been diagnosed long?

Welcome puggreen.

50mg is a high initial dose of amitriptyline for neuropathic / nerve pain relief. So, I would suggest going back to your GP and discussing a lower dose - 10mg is a more usual starting dose.

Hi

I haven't taken amitryptamine but a relation of it called imipramine. I had to gradually increase my dose from 10mg to 20mg per day. 50g seems a litle high if you started on this amount.

My hubby takes amitriptamine (cn't spell sorry) for nerve pain & he is on 4og, & didn't have the side-effect you did. He again built himself up to the dose.

You need to go back to the docs & discuss this. There are alternatives to the drug you are on. I had imipramine as my GP told me it had less side-effects to the one you are on. Thankfully my nerve pain only lasted for a few months; again when I came off it I had to wean myself off & not stop straight away.

Hope you are feeling better
Take care
