I think your comments are not very helpful, hurtfull perhaps.
I have not met negative views like that with anyone I have told about my condition.

I was only diagnosed T2 in early December. Staff Christmas lunch was a bit awkward, but I just told people my GP spotted my blood sugar was a bit high and suggested I cut back. No-one has asked anything else, or whether that has any connection to diabetes...
However, I am down to attend a global meet up in Asia in June. First time it's been suggested I go. Would be a great opportunity, but it WILL involve a medical check and work paying for travel insurance. No idea how I am going to approach that. Does anyone know how much being diabetic adds to travel insurance?

Depends how overly sensitive you are, one of the good things about being diabetic is that it’s made me careful about what I eat, I cook everything and never have takeaways if people have a problem that then....

I've had a couple of bad comments straight to my face. I've been told you can cure diabetes by just loosing weight.
