Went for the dreaded review today. Saw a new DN who had actually read my notes! She was really nice. She said that she was amazed at how well I have done. (First person to give me the credit for getting the numbers down.) She said that except for the fact that three tests were done when I was diagnosed she would query that I am diabetic. She asked if I had been given a lot of steroids before diagnosis or was there anything that I could think of such as a major stressful incident that might have resulted in the very high reading in September 2012. (Previous nurse said stress does not affect BG.) She took blood and I will have to wait for the HbA1c result. She did trot out the usual thing about Type 2s not needing to test but accepted that I want to. I have to go back in six months unless the HbA1c or thyroid tests are not good. I have everything crossed for an acceptable number for both things 🙂 A relieved Happydog 🙂

That's great news happydog. I know how anxious you were before going so well done on a positive appointment and hopefully good blood results 🙂

Well done, happydog! And how lovely to find a supportive and sensible nurse :D. Best wishes for the test results xx

Good news @happdog 🙂 It's encouraging to hear recent stories about dreaded appointments turning out to be OK, with a knolwedgeable nurse who is prepared to listen rather than berate 🙂 Hope the results are good when they come through 🙂

Happydog you must be happy hehe x glad it went well and was positive

Lovely news happydog 🙂 thank goodness you have had a useful appointment with someone who listened to you. I hope your results are absolutely fine when they come through🙂

Well done happydog. It is good to hear about encounters with people who are on your side, and not doing everything by rote.🙂 I'm sure your numbers will be better, but don't stop doing what you are doing if they aren't yet perfect. They will be soon.
