So for the last few morning my bg has been at 10,
any idea how to bring this down, ty
 
Questions! for sensible answers you need to provide more info I'm afraid. eg -

What is it usually then, higher or lower than 10?
What was your BG when you went to bed the night before?
What time had you last eaten before bed?
What did you eat?
How much activity did you do the day before?
 
Apologies I didn't know I had to tell you all that, I'm still trying to get my head round this, I will figure it out. I walked over 3 mile eat less that 20 carbs for the full day, dinner before bed was roast pork, at around 6.30, during the day it's around the 7 mark I drink about 2 ltrs of water ty

When people ask for advice a bit of information about the precise circumstances is always useful indeed it is essential so inappropriate advice or suggestions are avoided. Crystal balls are not handed out at the moment.
Can I ask when do you do your morning test? as you may be experiencing what is termed foot on the floor phenomenon where glucose levels rise as soon as you are up and about.
I am surprised that with only 20g carbs per day that it is even 7 during the rest of the day.
Do you have a testing regime of testing before you eat and after 2hours to see the effect of your meals as that would provide some useful information.
 
The reason we need some structure in when we test is to see what 'pattern' the test results make, to see when the results we get are not what we are aiming for, so that we can try and fathom why the results was different to what we expected - eg because we ate too many grams of carbohydrate, or maybe hadn't gone for a walk that day or whatever it might be, then we can change whatever it was and see if that makes any difference to the result we then get - and if we are now happy with the result. Being happy with results all day every day takes time to achieve, so don't be concerned when it isn't instant. You'll get there!

But regular forum members often ask a few questions to avoid a wild goose chase 🙂

Many people tend to find that their morning BG is the last one to come down into line.

It may well be that your liver it getting a bit twitchy overnight with ‘Dawn Phenomenon’ or ‘Foot on the Floor’ where there is a release of glucose overnight to ‘fire up the burners’ for the day ahead. Which isn’t all that helpful if you have a wonky metabolism!

Some people have a degree of success with a lowish carb snack with either protein or fat last thing, which can help keep the liver happy overnight in some cases?
