Hiya people.

I have just signed up to this website, i have type 1 diabetes and have had it for 6 years this June. But i would like to know others with the condition, because it is useful to speak to others and see how they cope.

Hi Laura, welcome to the forum 🙂 I've been Type 1 for nearly three years now, and there are plenty more of us with experince ranging from a few weeks to several decades so I'm sure you'll find plenty in common to talk about with everyone! It can be an enormous help to just be amongst people who share the same problems and ups and downs, so please pitch in whenever you feel like it! 🙂

What area are you in roughly Laura?
 
Im not to sure theres any at the moment they have been birmingham meets in the past, the ones coming up are in Oxford London and Glasgow..
 
Hi Laura. Welcome to the forum 🙂

You'll certainly benefit from speaking to the other members. A large number of diabetics don't seem to meet others (including me) until they join this or another forum.

Hey Laura welcome to the forum. I've had type 1 for 20 years this year, I'm 22.

There will probably be a Birmingham meet later in the year, I'm guessing we'll do Brighton again too!

There's one in Oxford a week on Saturday a few of us are going to, if you fancied coming to that?
 
Hi Laura welcome to the forum. They are a great bunch of people on here very friendly and supportive certainly making coping with Diabetes a lot easier:D

hi and welcome this is a very freindly site and even tho u sumtimes feel like ur the only 1 wiv this ur not just post ur feelings or any concerns and thers always sum1 either goin threw it or been ther and dun it xx

Welcome to the site, im also quite new to the site and from the Midlands but have not heard of any meets as of yet.
 
Hi Laura and welcome to the forum.
I had T1 for 28 years before I was the slightest bit motivated to join a forum - this one seems very friendly with loads of "advice" on tap.
You have to beware of shallow women though - they tend to lower the tone😉
