Letters have come flooding in over the past few days, asking me to make appointments for several things. *

Sorted:
HbA, 30/9 (surgery)
The sleep clinic, 2/10 (hostilepile)
Diabetic Consultant, 7/10 (hostilepile)
Diabetic check (feet, weight, BP etc.) 15/10 (surgery) **

** This letter annoyed me a bit because they are trying to wean me off the clinic, which isn't going to work because I've had far better treatment since they got involved than when I was fighting all the time with Doctor Idiot. It's only because of the clinic that I'm not still stuck on Metfartin and being ignored.

Pending:
Flu jab
Eye Screening
Pain management clinic
Physiotherapy

Gee, how can I stand the excitement? 🙄

Note to self:

Have to talk to the consultant about taking the codeine into consideration when managing my BGs as they raise my numbers significantly (single to double figures at times :eek). So much in fact that I now only take them when I'm absolutely desperate. I can't keep doing that as it makes life miserable at times so I need to find a solution. Ibuprofen doesn't work for me any more and Naproxen made me extremely ill. There must be an acceptable alternative out there.

* Not one of them containing a birthday card. *sob*

Happy "B" Ali ! You have got a few things to do ! Good luck 😉

Happy birthday lovely lady 🙂

Happy birthday lovely lady 🙂

It's not till the 25th, but thanks. :D

It's funny how this time of year has been taken over by medical appointments, they almost bury the birthday. Sigh.

Happy birthday for the 25th Alison. I know what you mean about appointments two years ago one of my eye problems caused hassle for a month around my birthday - this time it's the eye injection 10 or so days before......just to have one birthday in my life without medication or health issues would be lovely🙄 You must be close to being a Libran like me but I'm not certain of the date that the Libran star sign starts

../You must be close to being a Libran like me but I'm not certain of the date that the Libran star sign starts

Libra starts on the 23rd so I just made it in under the wire. :D

(I used to muck about doing horrorscopes as a game for my mates, that's how I know). 😱

I wish I could get a proper one done, but since my mother didn't really know what time I was born ('One of you was born just after midnight, can't remember which of you' - helpful LOL) and we had double summertime that year, I have no idea where that left me exactly! LOL

Drives me into pottiness, having to have double checks on everything too. And why the hell should my GP surgery get extra brownie points for my good A1c results? - they have never had the slightest input into them improving but I dare say (ie I am 100% sure) they were instrumental in them getting and staying worse at one time - but I shan't start on that rant)

In fact really, nobody in the NHS should take any credit whatever for the original improvement - entirely my, and a certain diabetes forum, that did that. (Not this one LOL)

So you get the blood tests done. Then make an apt to see nursie. Then to see the 'diabetes' GP. And they are always at least a month if not 6 weeks in between each of these, whereas I go to the hospital D clinic, see the ordinary nurse (weight, BP etc) see the consultant, see the DSN who asks first, do I need my eyes photographed or see the dietitian today? before we get stuck into any probs etc.

All over and done with well inside the 2 hour minimum carpark fee.

See you in 6 months.
