i should of been having a ct colonoscopy in the morning. was given something called Gastrografin never got asked about allergies on picking it up so didn't think any thing untoward would happen till i then took the first dosage.
became ill during the night with burning in my throat along with burning in the bowel and top of bladder. turns out i was allergic to Iodine in the Gastrografin. i know with having a bad reaction like this i should of gone to a+e where things could of been monitored but my mind was all over the place wondering if this was normal and at the same time i did feel something had gone wrong, it was like i was torn what to do.
still dodgy this morning and sadly my scan has now been cancelled and sent back to the surgeon to see what else can be done. ordinary colonoscopy could be done if i get someone who doesn't hit the prostate over and over that made me scream and ended the procedure.
a bit disappointed that the scan has been aborted but things have to be safe when they are doing these things or should be.
point of interest i noticed this morning that i felt a bit shaky this was something i experienced before years ago while having a scan with prep
