What an awful week,my poor husband has had a week or more with blood sugar levels going sky high or critically low. Many disturbed nights with cgm going off 2 or 3 times night and day. Spoke to our specialist nurse who has slightly adjusted his background insulin but he is only on a very small dose as he is in the "honeymoon phase" We are wondering if it's the sensor as he has placed it more on the side of his upper arm,has anyone else experienced anything similar? He eats regularly and healthily and is doing the same level of activity. We were hoping that once on insulin things would get easier but these last few weeks have been exhausting and very stressful - which also contributes to fluctuations in levels. Will it ever get better?

If he’s getting low alerts at night, those could be compression lows - ie false lows. Does he confirm them with a fingerprick? When is he going high?

Sorry to hear what a tricky week you’ve both been having @casand2011

Yes I’m wondering about sensor data / compression lows too. Is he getting hypo symptoms alongside the alerts?

There’s a list of useful things to bear in mind about sensors here:

Is he monitoring the total amount of carbohydrate in his meals? Does he have a carb count to aim for to match his insulin doses?

A ‘healthy’ meal could mean lots of different things, but the dose for a healthy Mediterranean salad, would be very different to a healthy brown rice chilli.
