Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
yesterday was told by GP have Type 2 diabetes I only went in for a colestrol check. saw the nurse given the leaflets told I have to let DVLA know as I drive Will my life ever seem normal again

Welcome to the forum. You have come to the right place for all the little questions - and rants!
DVLA - That is not correct. You only need to tell them if you are taking insulin and even then it took only 6 weeks for me to get a new 3 year license. Presumably you have been given another appt with nurse. Any medication or diet and exercise? First main thing is to reduce carbs ie bread, pastry sweet things - but they are NOT completely out of the question - just reduce.
Others will be on soon to give you all the links to give proper advice

Welcome to the boards, Glenn1234.

For definitive information, see DVLA website at https://www.gov.uk/diabetes-driving It depends on your treatment (not type of diabetes) and vehicle(s) you drive. Check the details - you may not need to inform DVLA at this point, although situation may change eventually.

Hello Glenn, welcome. Post a bit about yourself and any questions you have and we'll do our best to help.
