Only one hospital trust in London managed to hit its A&E waiting time targets over the winter, according to official figures obtained by LBC.

More than 76,000 patients had to wait longer than four hours to be treated between November and the beginning of this month. Labour claims the cause of the problem is that nine NHS walk-in centres have closed since 2010.

Patients at the Royal London, which comes under Barts trust, which is one of the worst performing having missed its target in 18 of the 19 weeks, told LBC they are angry about the length of time it takes to be seen.

One patient said: "We were waiting for three hours, then a doctor asked a few questions. Then I had to wait another six hours."
