hi can you drink while on metformin the info leaflet says no i only drink 3/4 times a year and i have 3 xmas partys coming up and i want to be sipping water all night ( dont like coke /lemonade.
it would only be 1 or 2 bottle of blue wkd or wine

Stacey I have drunk on 2 occasions while being on metformin and have been fine, its more then likely if you were swigging back bottles of the stuff every 5 minutes, thats when you would feel the effects, enjoy your xmas parties and chill x

Being diabetic I'd be careful of the blue wkd I used to love drinking it but would need extra insulin for each bottle because of the sugar content

i do accasionally have a crabbies ginger beer ..and am partial to sloe gin and dark chocolate at xmas ...moderation you'll be fine x

Yes you can, I also have parties coming up - it's just the usual "in moderation" thing....

I'd avoid blue wkd (or any alcopop though) as they are packed with sugar and calories.

I'll be sticking to wine, or gin and slimline tonic, or spirits with diet mixers. (Provided my results don't show I need insulin sooner than they think... )

Interesting list - although pretty much nothing on there that I would drink 🙂

How do beers like London Pride, Directors, Pedigree, etc compare?
What about red and white wine?

I'm guessing that things like Asti are very high since I did notice that a single glass sent my BG into double figures! 😱
