I was just wondering what people’s advice on this is? I have been on Metfornin for 8 weeks since I was diagnosed with T2. I’m not a big drinker but I wonder if anyone drinks alcohol on their meds? I’m sure they do? I’m going to a Halloween party on Saturday night and was maybe going to have a few drinks. Has anyone has any adverse reactions when they have had one or 2 drinks? If you do have a drink on these what way would you take your tablets on that day?
 
Hi. I've taken Metformin SR for many years and do drink low levels of alcohol with no apparent problem. It's your decision but I suspect low level drinking for most people wouldn't have any effect but I'm not an expert.
 
Have you checked the Patient Information Leaflet in the box of your tablets @cr1979 ?

That should have a list of precautions etc. and include any possible advice around alcohol I would imagine?
