High levels of air pollution will continue to affect parts of the UK on Thursday, experts have warned.
Environment department Defra said areas of eastern and north-west England, the Midlands, north Wales and south-west Scotland would be the worst-hit.
Health warnings have been issued for people with lung and heart conditions, as well as for those with asthma.
The smog-like conditions are caused by a mixture of local and continental pollution, and dust from the Sahara.
The pollution is expected to clear on Friday.
