I'm very much like @mikeyB above Post 20.
I always treat my Hypo when it appears.
If after 4 hrs I will do the calc to determine the carbs req to raise my Bg back to normal range ie between 4.0 to 10.
I then treat my meal as normal pumping the appropriate insulin for carbs eaten and relying on that for stabilising my Bg's.
If it occurs under the 4 hr window then as before I do the calc to raise my Bg but do not add any insulin again thank God for L2 my angel on my arm, I let that be my Bg guide if it reads low I up my carbs.
Then with my pump ticking away with my Basal doses plus a meal boost Bolus dose all keeps calm and level.
For me sometimes you can get too much advice that although similar sounds good can be confusing. I check any such advice back to my DN so I have only one source to correct to, if she ok's it I go ahead. That way we / she knows where we are at.
If her advice causes a neg reaction it is easier for her to make a correction but if I've gone away from her advice what can one expect? As after all the DN's are trained & qualified people well at least mine is.
It's a bit like dancing 2 steps forward 1 step back chasse to the side you just gotta keep in step with the rhythm of life.
