Hi everyone, my waking BG levels are reading at 9 and 10 and i would like to get them a bit lower. Would i just increase my Lantus the night before a little. Would be grateful for any help. Thanks

Hi Casey, what are your readings like before bed? What you want to avoid is the possibility of dropping low if the increased lantus dose turns out to be too high. I know it's a pain, but if you do increase it, it might be worth doing a 3 am test just to be on the safe side (might be worth trying that before you change the dose actually, so you can try and pinpoint where the rise might be occuring). I find that lantus has a bit of a peak for me a couple of hours after injecting, even though it is not supposed to.

If you're at all unsure, ask your DSN for advice before making any changes 🙂
