Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Confusing info about if people who have type 1& 2 diabetes will be asked to self isolate for 12 weeks...anyone had a letter yet? Called my docs surgery this morning and they are unable to give further info....does not list on gov website....I have type 2 and high blood pressure and also in remission from cancer
Any help ?

The answer's no for that. There may be other reasons why people who also have diabetes will need to self isolate, but just having diabetes (of any kind) isn't regarded as risky enough on its own.

Only about 1.5 million people are on the list of ‘extremly vulnerable’, and there are 4.8 million people living with diabetes, plus millions more living with asthma, heart disease, Parkinson’s, MS and all the other ‘increased risk’ conditions.

People with diabetes are strongly advised to take ‘social distancing’ measures as seriously as possible, including Monday’s instructions on restricting movement - but we are not currently required to fully isolate for 12 weeks. We can still go out for essential supplies as long as we are careful, keep our distance from others, and keep trips out to an absolute minimum.
