Because of other drugs I have to take, I am always hungry. I am struggling to find something to eat before bed... a few crackers doesn't work, by 5am I wake feeling hungry, and the longer it goes on the more hungry, nauseous, slightly dizzy sometimes, I get. A slice of toast does it though, but concerned about cals and carbs.... do any of you have this hunger thing and if so, what do you do about it. And please, don't say anything like 'drink water', exercise and so on, because neither is helpful.

Can you clarify your treatment - are you eating high carb foods to counteract the treatment for diabetes? If not - I don't understand your choices.
Carbs trigger the release of insulin, which lowers blood glucose and makes you feel hungry.

Try a piece of cheese before bed, or a spoonful of peanut butter. The fat and protein will keep you full for longer than crackers or toast.

Or just a few nuts - almonds, peanuts, walnuts, whatever.

Yeah, I’ll second the peanut butter too, on an oatcake works for me! You can also get no added sugar peanut butter still with the salt in it that I find is even better, nuttier, tasting than the one with sugar. Having tried 100% peanuts PB, however, it’s very bland & a lot oilier! Sun Pat No Added Sugar is what I use.
