Hi All

Merry Christmas!!!

I know you can't give medical advice, but an opinion would be great if possible.

I normally only take novorapid with my evening meal (my largest meal of the day in theory). However, wtih Santa making an appearance tomorrow hopefully, it is likely my midday meal will be the larger one tomorrow - do you think i should take my novorapid with my lunchtime meal rather than evening meal tomorrow?

What would you guys do? Chances of me being able to speak to a nurse today are non-existent!

Thank you as always!!

Merry Christmas Emma! 🙂

If it was me, then I would take my novorapid with my main meal as that is likely to be the most carb-heavy meal of the day 🙂 Enjoy!

Merry Christmas Emma,

I agree with Northerner. If you take your Novorapid with your biggest meal, then you take it lunch time tomorrow with your biggest meal 🙂

John.

That's got me thinking. I am on Humalog mix 25. Usually 8 units before breakfast and 13 units before dinner. Dinners likely to be 2-3pm rather than my usual 6-7pm - which slot will be taken by tea over next few days due to visiting. Should I delay morning injection. At 4 hours after breakfast I can go low if I don't eat some carbs. Also take 1g Metformin at breakfast and 1g before dinner 6pm. Help from type 2s please as this is my first christmas injecting.

Well if Humalog 25 has the same-ish profile as Novomix 30, the peak is around the 4 hour mark and that would tie in with going hypo when you do.

So yes, try it !
