Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
hi my husband who is type one has lost the strength in his dominant hand and his arm looks thinner/weaker than the other.

He is the type of person who plays things down to the dr never mentions his diabetes.

Could this be related, he has no pain at all just loss of strength/feeling.

Advice appreciated. The dr said refer to physio but it’s got much worse since then.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Gemmah, that does sound like something that needs to be discussed with the gp, I hope you can talk hubby into it! Good luck 🙂

Because it affects just one side, it is unlikely to be related to diabetes. It sounds much more like nerve compression, possibly a disc in the neck pressing on the nerve. I agree this should be discussed with the doctor, and soon - leave it for too long, and the changes could become permanent.
