Hi everyone , I’m doing reasonably well with my low carb diet regime but I find that I’m craving a snack either mid morning or mid afternoon and I think a protein shake would be quick and filling? I just don’t know of any on the market that are suitable for diabetics. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

I tried a couple of smoothies when first diagnosed - I had just bought a Nutribullet. My glucose levels shot up, even when only using salad stuff - the processing ruptures the cell walls and makes them very digestible.
I would recommend having something like cheese or eggs - I used to cook a whole pack of chicken thighs and leave them in the fridge for next day -rather than having a drink.
You might need to reconsider what you have for breakfast. These days I eat twice a day at 12 hour intervals, but I have two proper meals.

I use a vegan protein one by The Protein Works which has 1.1g carb per serving.
I searched Amazon to see what was available. Can't remember if I searched for low carb or keto.
There were quite a few available. I chose one to try and found I liked it.
It's pretty expensive though but works for me when I need a bit of extra protein.

Protein nut bars are good, less than 10g carb per bar, Nature Valley, KIND or shop own, Fibre 90 are all good options.

Do you mean the fibre one protein 90 calorie bars that are like 4 carbs? I’d only recommend them if you can tolerate an extremely sweet taste and aren’t sensitive to sweetener. I really wanted to like them, and I do like some sweet things eg squash and diet drinks etc, but I struggled to eat the fibre one protein bars as they were just so insanely sweet.

I do mean those, but I only have a quarter of one of those I mention at a time with the afternoon cuppa.

Some of the suggestions on that link above make me despair!

Which vegan protein do you use?
