My little girl will be 4 sept a few weeks ago she had an episode which resulted in paramedics everything was fine her bg was 4 she had another episode yesterday after tea her bloods 4.1 doc wasnt to helpful and just saod her body was to effecient at making insulin .
So my question is should i take it further with more tests or just leave well alone ?
Thank you for reading

Welcome to the forum, Beth honeywill. I found it difficult to read your post, so I will check a few details:
Will she be 4 years old in September?
Did the episode the paramedics attended happen a few weeks ago? Did they record her blood glucose level as 4mmol/? If so, that is within normal levels for someone who doesn't have diabetes.
What sort of doctor did you see? GP or A&E doctor or other type?
As you mention a blood test after tea yesterday, how long after eating was the reading of 4.x mmol/l taken? I say 4.x because 4.0 is OK, and so is 4.9, but 4.9 is even more comfortably within recommended range. Did you test her blood yourself or were paramedics called again? Had she done anything unusual earlier in the day? Holidays can be even more physically active than school days, so perhaps that's part of the explanation.
Basically, as you have made contact with medical services, event though I'm not sure which, I'd take their advice.

Thank you for reply yes the first time she passed out and paramdeic came out and recorded her blood as 4 this was about 3 hours after eating
Yesterday started showing signs of being unwell mostly slurring when she spoke and laying down her gp tested her blood about an hour after eating with a reading of 4.1 he said if she gets worse just ring 999
Her behaviour changes she sweats alot then crashes out
She will be 4 in september

How long has your daughter had diabetes, Beth? Do you test her bloods yourself?

Hi radders she hasnt been diagnosed yet she has only had these episodes twice so far but i have been watching her after meals etc and she always slumps after eating i was more just looking for advice on what to look out for doctors were not helpful at all and we have diabetics through the family

I have no experience of this, I'm sorry, but given her readings it doesn't sound diabetes related, I think I would be going back to the GP.

When i spoke to gp yesterday sismt say anything about following up anything which frustrated me im maybe be thinking it might be hypoglycemia with out being diabetic but i appreciate your reply thank you xx

Hi Beth, I think you're right that it may be reactive hypoglycaemia - the readings certainly don't suggest diabetes, and the symptoms you describe sound very like hypoglycaemia. If it is that, the solution is for her to eat little and often - avoid big meals, and always make sure she has some food with her wherever she goes (eg one of those little packets of raisins) so you can give her something to eat if she starts to feel faint.

However, having said that, I have no medical training so no idea whether anything else could cause those symptoms (I only know about reactive hypoglycaemia because my partner has it) and it seems very poor that the GP doesn't want to investigate any further. I agree with Radders, I would take her back and maybe try to see a different doctor, especially if she has any more episodes.

Thank you thats what we will try and do good gp's are very hard to come by :(
Its hard to catch her right she isnt a huge eater anyway and she had a bar of charcolate yesterday which she doesnt normally get im a bit mean no sweets juice chocolate that type of thing
Is it something i could help by a dietry change maybe we eat very healthy lots of fruit veg etc ?? Xx

dietry change maybe we eat very healthy lots of fruit veg etc
Look at the fruits.... a lot of them can be quite high in sugar, if this is reactive hypoglycemia then that can trigger insulin overproduction..... Having said that, we can't diagnose just suggest things to try.... I think that the poor little mite must go to the Dr. & get this settled one & for all!!!
