Just diagnosed as prediabetic and would be glad for advice on diet information.

Welcome to the forum. a prediabetes diagnosis means you HbA1C will be somewhere between 42 and 47mmol/mol so depending whereabouts you are will determine how much you will need to do. Some modest changes will likely be sufficient in particular cutting out sugar and things like cakes, biscuits and sugary drinks including fruit juice and reducing high carbohydrate foods like potatoes, rice, pasta. bread and tropical fruits. Many find a low carb approach successful but that does nor mean NO carbs.
This link may help you with some ideas and some do's and don'ts for modifying your diet.
Losing weight if you need to will also help as will increasing exercise if you can, brisk walking is good, it doesn't need to be going to the gym unless that is your thing.
