Hi

Just a quick question as this is still new 🙂

My son has just come back from quite a long bike ride (it's a hot day too!) He tested before he went (6.4) I think.

Can vaguely remember the nurse saying something about exercise can have a knock on effect the next day. Joel is off to London with his brother tomorrow so just want to make sure he is prepared for the unexpected!

We are off to the hospital next week so must ask more questions...didn't take much in on the first visit!

Thank you so much

Exercise - dont do exercise if your level is over 14mmols or it can go higher if not enough insulin on board.
The effects of exercise can last up to 48 hours afterwards. I dont know much about mixed insulins, but I would be testing him at 3am if I were you. This is the optium time for a nighttime hypo and if he isnt used to doing this then he will drop later.
If he is low when he wakes in the morning - perhaps have some 'extra' carbs for breakfast to help to stop any hypo's for the day.🙂Bev
