Hi, I'm looking for advice on how to adjust the time of day when I have my insulin when on holiday. I take Lantus at 10pm every day, when I go to Florida which is 5 hours ahead of the UK it would be 5pm. Should I adjust the timings, does it need to be administered at night? All advice welcome.
Thanks 🙂

No, take it when you like! It generally lasts between about 20 hours and about 36, though obviously is shelves off somewhere towards the end.

I can't remember for the life of me what I did when I was on Lantus and went to Florida. Maybe I just firefought with Novorapid after dinner and took the Lantus at bedtime as per usual?

Adjust your timings, if you want, it's easy. When you get to Florida, take it at 7pm. Then the next day, take it at 9pm. Next day, 10pm. Remember to reverse this process back so you're not taking your basal at 2am in the UK!
