Researchers at Addenbrooke?s are embarking upon one of the biggest ever studies into the causes and prevention of diabetes during pregnancy.
The Cambridge hospital is recruiting over 900 women across Europe for trials which could help control Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM).
The condition causes babies growth disturbances, breathing problems or low blood sugar, while later in life both mother and child can be prone to weight gain and type 2 diabetes.
