Hi, I was diagnosed with type 2 2 weeks ago, just had my first urine test and my ACR level is abnormal it’s 4.4 mg mmol have app on Tuesday with nurse. Really stressing about it does anyone have any info, and is this seriously raised
Thanks

Try this,

That's from the NICE guidelines on what to do when interpreting a result of an ACR test. My reading (as an amateur in these matters) is that a 4.4 result is not considered serious and merits a further check in 3 months time to see if has changed.

Time to stop stressing over it!

Thankyou! You have put my mind at rest! I’ve just read this, I can’t believe the horror stories online! And this is what happens when you see your results on nhs app and try to interpret them yourself!
Thankyou

I have found that the NICE guidelines are by far the best place to go for this sort of stuff. Beats searching the internet by far.

Off topic, but just fyi, that link is geoblocked for people overseas. You get this message:

CKS is only available in the UK

The NICE Clinical Knowledge Summaries (CKS) site is only available to users in the UK, Crown Dependencies and British Overseas Territories.

CKS content is produced by Clarity Informatics Ltd (trading as Agilio Software | Primary Care). It is available to users outside the UK via subscription from the Agilio | Prodigy website.

Welcome to the forum @Janetk

Glad you have been reassured 🙂

Hope the follow-up checks provide further peace of mind.
