Hi all I am on metformin took one this morning got have it again at dinner time but tonight I want have a few shots of vocka with my mate and will my tablets harm me
 
Hi @Juststephen23, I'm on metformin and I have a glass or two of red wine most nights, though I probably shouldn't! Not sure about spirits as I rarely drink them but I believe they are the least carby option when it comes to alcohol.
 
If you are concerned @Juststephen23, speak to your GP or diabetes nurse, who will have access to your medical records and be able to advise you whether you can drink alcohol safely alongside Metformin, or if you have anything extra going on that makes it a bad idea 🙂
