Type 2
hey guys my names Tim and I’ve recently been told I have type 2 diabetes, I’ve been taking medication for 9 weeks now but lately I’ve been getting pain below the ribs and around the back and the pain shoots up my back, is this a result of the medication or am I not eating right or is this something else? I suffer with health anxiety so when I get these pains I think it’s all over for me. Does anyone have any advice

Book an appointment with your GP asap xx

Yeah got into the doctors today I think it’s the metformin giving me problems going to change my medication

I had and still have some upper digestive tract problems with Metformin including trapped wind giving that pain in the chest and shoulder blades and heartburn too. I have been swigging the Gaviscon quite a bit recently. I know what you mean about feeling anxious when you get pains in the chest, especially when your BG is high which means heart disease is a risk.
Pleased you saw the doc and they are going to change your medication.
