Picked up a bargain - Boots selling off Accu Check Nano meters for ?4.00

Obviously they are the 'old' meters, showing 4.7 etc - no doubt new ones will coming out with the new readings

I hadn't even thought about testing machines having the new numbers. I won't be able to cope after a life time (well since the testing machines were introduced) of being familiar with the old numbers. Is there anywhere that provides a full breakdown of what the new numbers equal e.g. the equivalent of 1.7, 1.8,1.9 etc etc. Having a new machine with new numbers is going to be very confusing when having a hypo😱

I hadn't heard anything about them changing the BG testing units from mmol/l.

As far as I know, it's only the HbA1c units that have changed to bring them into line with the current BG units (from % to mmol/l).🙂

Some (most?) meters can select mmol/l or mg/dl.

The new HbA1c readings are different from what you get on a meter - they have changed from a percentage to mmol/mol, whereas meters show mmol/l 🙂

My Accu check mobile was only 10, but I think it was what the local boots were stopping stocking, rather than being on a proper offer. If you have a local smaller store, try in there as they seem to be good at getting rid of stock cheaply!!
