My father has just been given a new Accu-Check Mobile.

Unfortuantely he phoned me up last night because he was having problems getting it to talk to his computer.

Apparently he connected it to my mum's laptop (Win 7) which opened it up as a folder of images. He then tried connecting it to his computer (Win XP) which did nothing.

Unfortunately he is a small matter of ~180 miles away from me, so I can't pop round and have a look.

So, anyone else got one of these and managed to connect it to a computer to pull readings off?

You can conects them to computers?!? :?

Which software is he using?

If it's the smart pix software... Then this open's up into window explorer!

So when you set connect the smart pix reader to the computer, it shows all the folders on the smart pix reader..

One of the folders/file (sorry can't remember which one) will load up the software into the windows explorer for you..

If you've got any problems, either look for the instructions on their website, if not give us a shout, and I see if I can find my instruction manual for it!

Be warned though if dad is using the smart pix reader/software you can't save the file to the hard drive, if you want to back up the information, you have to make a hard copy and print it out!

Which software is it Mark? I have the Accu Chek 360 software which won't run on my laptop (W7), only on my PC (XP). If it is the 360, silly question, but has he installed it or is he just looking at the files? Once installed it should put an icon on the desktop to click on or be available from the Start menu. It's a bit clunky but produces some good reports, and (unlike the Smartpix, apparently!) you can save the data to the hard drive.

I'm not sure if he actually installed any software - but he did say sonerhing about 360.

Northie - they do 360 (degrees) which is W7 compatible now, it's Version 1.1.2 cos I have it and I've just been and had a look at the discs.

Think someone on the IP UK Digest was saying there's another new version out soon, but personally I should ring them and ask, if I were you!

I had a smart pik for that but could not get it to work on my XP phoned Accu Chek up ant they said what was on the left hand side at the top when conected to the computer it said version 1.12 they said I needed version 3.0 and sent me a new one tell your friend to give them a call.

Thanks, I've directed him to phone Accu Check and get them to send him some cd's.

For whatever reason I suspect the autorun isn't running, or is being suppressed by the firewall/anti-virus. But it's going to be easier to get him to do a cd install then it is to explain about finding setup.exe

Let's see where he goes from here.
