This is fascinating!

It shows how forums like this affect government and medical policies. Look how many times we have mentioned the "freestyle libre" and how it's discussion trends spike, like when our former prime minister was seen wearing the freestyle libre.

It would be great to think we had a hand in this :D

Unless of course, she started wearing one for the same reason we started talking about it - I.e. doctors were starting to push them.

There was a huge and very organised campaign aboit access for Libre across social media, and facilitated by Diabetes UK, JDRF and some high profile HCPs, it began well before Libre was listed on formulary (and therefore could be prescribed ‘subject to local healthcare economy’) beginning with posts, pleas and petitions, and progressing to applying pressure to HCPs to remove the postcode lottery that quickly emerged.

I wrote this following a ’fight for Flash‘ event (organised by DUK) towards the end of the campaign - https://www.everydayupsanddowns.co.uk/2018/10/fight-for-flash-in-bristol-diabetes-uk.html
