Hi All, Does anyone on here use this system? Can you give me some advice as I'm considering getting one but obviously its a big outlay. I'm a type 2 but get a lot of hypo type symptoms with high readings and would like to know how to control my condition earlier before I get such debilitating symptoms. I'm low carbing and eat sensibly and regularly but first thing in the morning I am very high, again around lunchtime, even before lunchtime, but seem to be more controlled in the evening!
Also I note that the Diabetes UK shop doesn't sell the system and I wondered if there was a reason other than the cost?
Cheers all.

There are quite a few members on here that use the Libre who will no doubt be along soon 🙂 but in the meantime why don't you try typing Libre into the search box at the top of the forum and have a wee read up, I think there may even be reviews on it from some of the members, oh and welcome 🙂 x

Welcome.
They are fairly new to the market, they sell direct from their website.

Hi Mandy . Welcome . I'm T2 and been using the Libre for a couple of months now, I started using it because I'd guessed, correctly as it turned out , that something was going on that my ordinary meter could not tell me.

Firstly it does not do away entirely with finger pricks.
2)It doesn't sound alarms when you are going too low.
3)It has however helped me prevent quite a few hypo's, because I can do far more tests very quickly and much easier than with finger picks.
4)Unlike with fingerpricks it tests interstitial fluid not blood, so its around 15 minutes behind your meters results.
5)I've found the graph extremely useful in seeing which direction my BGs are heading
6) The sensors are expensive

I have a thread about my Libre which you might like to read , other Libre users have posted there too, I've also done a bit of a review near the end.
