A year ago today, I was diagnosed T2 which came as a complete shock as I had been to my Dr's for some other problem.
My doc was a new guy, and not my normal GP. and I have to say he was excellent over the following months in adjusting various other medications and some new ones, not directly to control the diabetes but to compensate for possible complications. He gave me a bit of a hard time, but it was in my own interest and I will always remember his attitude and caring nature.
My nurse was less forthcoming, but I now have a choice. Others I have met, like radiologists, eye specialist, and especially the podiatry ladies, etc, have all been so excellent. Even my optician re photoed my eyes after 6 months as a back up to the transit van jobbie.
I have felt that they eventually leave you to your own devices at times, but the truth is, we have to play our part too, if I have a problem, I need to ask, they are there for us.
I hope others have as good a support as I have had.
So as its my anniversary so to speak, can I have a cake?🙂
